Christapher Johnson (born April 29, 1990) is an American professional basketball player. He plays for Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel. Chris is 6 feet 6 inches tall. He usually plays as a small forward or power forward. He also played college basketball for the University of Dayton.

Chris Johnson's Basketball Journey
College Years
Chris Johnson started his basketball journey at the University of Dayton. In his first year, he played 34 games. He averaged about 6 points and 5 rebounds per game.
During his second year, he played 36 games. He improved a lot, averaging nearly 12 points and 7 rebounds.
His junior year was even better. He started all 36 games. Chris averaged 11.9 points and 6 rebounds. He was great at stealing the ball and making three-pointers. He scored over 10 points in 24 games. He also had four "double-doubles" (scoring double digits in two different stats, like points and rebounds).
In his final year, Chris was named co-MVP for his team. He helped the Dayton Flyers win 20 games. They also made it to the NIT (National Invitation Tournament) for the third time. He played well against strong teams, scoring many points. Overall, he averaged 12.4 points and 6.4 rebounds.
Playing in the NBA and D-League
After college, Chris was not chosen in the 2012 NBA draft. But he didn't give up! He joined the Philadelphia 76ers for the Summer League. He then signed with the Los Angeles Clippers and Orlando Magic, but was later waived.
In November 2012, Chris was picked by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. This team is part of the NBA's minor league, called the G-League (it used to be called the D-League). On January 23, 2013, he got a chance to play in the NBA. He signed a short contract with the Memphis Grizzlies. He made his NBA debut that very day!
Chris later played for the Boston Celtics in 2014. He signed a longer deal with them. He played 40 games for the Celtics. He averaged 6.3 points per game.
He also played for the Philadelphia 76ers again in 2014. Then, he signed short contracts with the Utah Jazz and Milwaukee Bucks in 2015. He returned to the Jazz for the 2015-16 season. This was his first full season in the NBA. He played 70 games for Utah that year.
Playing Overseas
After his time in the NBA, Chris returned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He played well there, averaging 13.5 points.
In November 2017, Chris moved to France. He signed with a team called BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque. He quickly became a star there. In March 2018, he was named the league's MVP of the Month. He averaged 15.5 points per game in France.
In July 2018, Chris moved to Israel. He joined Hapoel Jerusalem. He helped his team win the Israeli State Cup in 2019!
He returned to France in 2019 to play for JL Bourg. He averaged 11.5 points there. But he soon came back to Israel.
Since August 2020, Chris has been playing in Israel again. He first played for Hapoel Holon. He won the Israeli League championship with them in 2022. He was also named the Israeli League Best Defender twice! In 2023, he rejoined Hapoel Jerusalem, where he plays today.

Chris Johnson's mother is Nicole Johnson. He has two siblings, named Ty’onna and Maurice.
