Starting Out at Bolton
Chris Lester began his football career at a young age. He joined the Bolton Wanderers academy when he was under 14 years old. He showed great skill in the club's youth teams, playing for the Under-18 and Under-21 squads. Because of his excellent performance, he signed his first professional contract with the club.
First Team Chances
Chris was a substitute for Bolton Wanderers in an FA Cup game against Sunderland. He was also a substitute in a league match against Middlesbrough. To get more playing time, he went on loan to Chester in 2013 for one month. He was even nominated for a "Rising Star" award in September 2013.
On April 22, 2014, Chris made his official debut for Bolton's first team. He came into the game as a substitute in the 77th minute against Leicester City.
Moving On
In March 2015, Chris had a trial with Hartlepool United. He even scored a goal in his first game for their reserve team. On May 15, 2015, Chris Lester left Bolton Wanderers along with several other players.
