Christopher Mark Llewellyn, born on August 28, 1979, is a Welsh coach and former professional football player. He played as a Midfielder or striker.

He played in over 350 games in the Football League. He played for teams like Norwich City, Bristol Rovers, Wrexham, Hartlepool United, and Grimsby Town. Later, he joined Welsh Premier League teams such as Neath, Llanelli, and Aberystwyth Town. Chris also played for his country, earning 6 caps for the Wales national team and scoring one goal. He also played 14 games for the Wales U21 team.

Playing Career Highlights

Starting at Norwich City

Chris Llewellyn began his football journey at Norwich City. He came through their youth system. He joined the first team during the 1997–1998 season. In that season, he played 16 games and scored 4 goals.

Chris spent six years playing for Norwich City. Fans even called him 'The New Giggs' because of his exciting play. A group of supporters, known as 'The Barclay Boys,' often sang a song about him.

Time with Wrexham

In 2003, Chris Llewellyn joined Wrexham. He had a great 2003–04 season. His strong performance led to him being called back to the Welsh national team. He helped Wrexham win the Football League Trophy in 2005.

Chris later moved to Hartlepool United for one season. He then returned to Wrexham on June 29, 2006. In 2007, Chris scored a very important goal for Wrexham. This goal helped them win 3–1 against Boston United. This victory kept Wrexham from being moved down to a lower league. He left Wrexham in May 2008.

Playing for Grimsby Town and Neath

Chris joined Grimsby Town in July 2008. He played 32 games for them. After leaving Grimsby, he joined Welsh Premier League team Neath Athletic. His manager at Neath praised him, calling him "the best striker in the league."

Later Clubs

In June 2010, Chris moved to Llanelli. He even scored a goal in a 2010–11 UEFA Europa League game. He later had a loan spell at Aberystwyth Town in 2012. After leaving Llanelli, Chris became a player-assistant manager for Welsh Football League team West End in June 2012.

Coaching Career

In December 2012, Chris Llewellyn started a new chapter as a full-time youth coach at Swansea City. By February 2014, he became the manager of the Swansea City Under 21s team.

In 2015, his Under-21s team won the 2014–15 Professional U21 Development League 2. This was a big achievement. It was the first time a Swansea City Academy team won an English national development trophy. Before the 2015–16 season, Chris took charge of the Under-18s team. In August 2021, he was appointed head coach for Swansea City Ladies, but he left after a short time.

International Appearances

Chris Llewellyn played for Wales at different levels. He played for the Welsh B team and the Under-21 team. He made his debut for the senior Wales team in 1998 against Malta. He was called back to the national squad in May 2004. Chris scored his first international goal for Wales in November 2006 against Liechtenstein.
