Chris "Dune" Pastras, born on July 14, 1972, is a super talented person! He's known as an artist, a professional skateboarder, and even a TV host. He also owns a skateboard company and is an entrepreneur, which means he starts and runs businesses.

Growing Up

Chris Pastras grew up in New Jersey. He was mentored by Rodney Smith, who was a big influence on him. Rodney even gave Chris his first skateboard in 1979 when Chris was just 7 years old! Chris is mixed-race, with Greek and African-American heritage. He was raised by two Black women.

Skateboarding Adventures

Chris started his skateboarding journey early. His first sponsor was SHUT skateboards when he was a teenager. In 1990, Chris joined World Industries, a well-known skateboard company. He appeared in their videos like Rubbish Heap (1989) and Two World Industries Men (1990).

After World Industries, Chris rode for Blue skateboards. Then, in 1992, Chris and actor Jason Lee teamed up to create their own company called STEREO Skateboard. Chris also starred in STEREO's skate video called Tincan Folklore.

Chris was so famous in the skateboarding world that he appeared on the cover of two major magazines. He was on the cover of Slap magazine in May 1992 and Transworld Skateboarding in 1993.

Stereo Skateboards: A Unique Style

Stereo Skateboards became known for its cool and unique style. They often used images inspired by jazz music. Chris Pastras also added his own amazing artwork to their designs. Plus, their skate videos had a special feel because they used old-school Super 8 film cameras. This combination gave Stereo a really distinct and artistic vibe.

TV Host

In 2019, Chris Pastras showed another one of his talents. He played a host in a music video for E.B. The Younger. The video was called When The Time Comes and was directed by his friend Jason Lee.
