Chris "Dune" Pastras (born July 14, 1972) is a talented artist, professional skateboarder, and a successful business owner. He has also been a television host. Chris is known for his creative style in skateboarding and his unique artwork.

Early Life and First Skateboard

Chris Pastras grew up in New Jersey. He was mentored by Rodney Smith, who was a big influence on him. Chris received his very first skateboard in 1979 when he was just seven years old. It was a special gift from Rodney. Chris is of mixed heritage, with a Greek father and an African-American mother. He was raised by two Black women.

Chris Pastras' Skateboarding Journey

Chris Pastras began his skateboarding career early. His first sponsor was SHUT skateboards when he was a teenager.

Joining World Industries

In 1990, Chris left SHUT to join World Industries, a well-known skateboard company. He appeared in their skate videos, including Rubbish Heap in 1989 and Two World Industries Men in 1990.

Founding Stereo Skateboards

After his time at World Industries, Chris rode for Blue skateboards. In 1992, Chris Pastras and fellow skateboarder Jason Lee decided to create their own company called STEREO Skateboard. Chris also starred in Stereo's skate video, Tincan Folklore.

Stereo's Unique Style

Stereo Skateboards became famous for its special look and feel. It often used images inspired by jazz music, combined with Chris Pastras' own artwork. The company's skate videos were filmed using super-8 cameras, which gave them a cool, old-school vibe.

Magazine Covers

Chris Pastras was featured on the cover of Slap magazine in May 1992. The next year, in 1993, he also appeared on the cover of Transworld Skateboarding magazine.

Acting and Hosting Roles

In 2019, Chris Pastras took on a role as a host in a music video. The video was for E.B. The Younger's song titled When The Time Comes. It was directed by his friend, Jason Lee.
