About Christine Berrie

Christine Berrie has been creating art since 2003. She studied visual communication at the Glasgow School of Art. Later, she earned her Master of Arts degree from the Royal College of Art in London.

Her Early Inspiration

Christine's interest in industrial designs started when she was a child. Her father was a draughtsman, which means he drew detailed technical plans. He would often bring these drawings home from work. Christine found these technical drawings very fascinating. They sparked her imagination and helped her develop her unique artistic style.

Starting Her Career

After finishing her studies at the Royal College of Art in 2002, Christine had a special art show. A famous designer named Angus Hyland saw her work there. He was so impressed that he bought one of her art books. Angus Hyland then invited Christine to contribute to a book he was publishing in 2003, called Hand to Eye: Contemporary Illustration.

Later, Angus Hyland helped Christine display her art at his design studio, Pentagram, in London. For this show, Christine drew everyday items she found around the Pentagram office. This was a great way for her to start sharing her unique vision with more people.

Where You Can See Her Art

Christine Berrie's illustrations have been featured in many well-known publications. You might have seen her work in newspapers like The Guardian or The New York Times. Her art has also appeared in magazines such as The Big Issue, New Scientist, Nature, and Vogue.

One of her most famous illustrations is a drawing of an "emergency stop" button. This drawing even appeared on the cover of New Scientist magazine! Her art has also been shown in exhibitions like DesignersBlock and the AOI Images UK tour.
