Children's Novels

Christopher William Hill is well-known for his children's books. His first series was called Tales From Schwartzgarten. It had four books published from 2012 to 2015.

The very first book in the series, Osbert The Avenger (2012), won an award! It received the East Sussex Children's Book Award in 2014. It was also a finalist for two other awards: the Northern Ireland Book Award in 2013 and the Leeds Book Award in 2014.

Later, in 2018, he published another children's novel called What Manor Of Murder?.

Plays for the Stage

Christopher has also written plays for the theatre. He wrote two plays, Multiplex and Heartbreak Beautiful, for a special festival called Connections at the National Theatre. This festival helps young people get involved in theatre.

Another one of his plays, Mister Holgado, won an award in 2013. It was named one of the Best Shows for Children and Young People at the UK Theatre Awards.

Besides dramas, Christopher has written comedies for BBC Radio 4. These include two series of Tomorrow, Today! (2006-2008) and Says On The Tin (2008). He also wrote two series of On The Rocks from 2013 to 2015.

His comedy-drama series, Clutch, Throttle, Brake (2017), was part of the Woman's Hour programme. It starred actors like Bill Paterson, Samantha Spiro, and Alison Steadman.

Other Work

Christopher has also written articles for The Guardian newspaper. He often teaches writing workshops at the Arvon Foundation, helping new writers develop their skills.
