Charles W. Missler (born May 28, 1934 – died May 1, 2018) was an American author, engineer, and businessman. He was also a well-known evangelical Christian Bible teacher.

Charles Missler's Business Life

Charles Missler studied engineering at the U.S. Naval Academy and UCLA. He worked in the aerospace and computer fields for several years. In 1963, he joined the Ford Motor Company.

Later, in 1977, he became a top leader and major owner at Western Digital, a company that makes computer parts. In 1983, he led another technology company called Helionetics, Inc.

Missler left Helionetics in 1984 to find new opportunities in the tech world. Later, Helionetics sued him, saying he had a conflict of interest. This was because a company he partly owned bought a defense electronics maker that Helionetics had decided not to buy. The lawsuit was settled when Missler's company agreed to pay Helionetics $1.6 million.

In 1989, he led Phoenix Group International. This company, which used to be in real estate, tried to sell computers to schools in Russia. However, the deal did not work out as planned. Phoenix Group International filed for bankruptcy in 1990.

His Ministry and Teachings

After his business deal with Russia ended, Missler started an online ministry called Koinonia House. He became known as a speaker on Bible prophecy, which is about future events described in the Bible.

In 1992, a newspaper reported that Missler and another author, Hal Lindsey, had used parts of a book by Professor Edwin Yamauchi without giving proper credit. Missler admitted this was a mistake in giving credit. Because of this, they stopped shipping the book to stores. All the money the authors earned from the book was given to a ministry.

Later, in 1999, Missler was again accused of using ideas from another author, Michael Talbot, in his book Cosmic Codes. Missler again said it was a mistake in giving credit and apologized. He said corrections would be added to unsold books and future versions. He also donated all his earnings from this book to a ministry.

Because of his background in technology, Missler helped bring attention to the "Y2K bug" within the Christian community. This was a concern that computers might stop working correctly in the year 2000. In 1998, he wrote a book about this issue.

Personal Life

Charles Missler was married to Nancy Missler. They had two sons and two daughters. Nancy passed away from cancer on November 11, 2015.

Death

Charles Missler died at his home in Reporoa, New Zealand, in 2018. He was survived by his two daughters.
