The Church of The Good Shepherd, Lake is a special building in the village of Lake, Isle of Wight. It's a parish church, which means it's the main church for the local area. It belongs to the Church of England, which is the main Christian church in England.

About the Church

This church was built a long time ago, in 1892. A famous architect named Temple Lushington Moore designed it. He was known for creating beautiful church buildings.

Its Unique Design

The Church of The Good Shepherd has a very interesting design. It has a main area called a nave that is split into two parts, like two aisles side-by-side. The front part of the church, called the chancel, where the altar is, has only one aisle. This makes the church look quite special and different from many others.

Inside the Church

Inside the church, you can see some lovely stained glass windows. These colorful windows were made in the middle of the 1900s by an artist named Francis Skeat. They tell stories or show important figures through their beautiful designs.

The church also has an old pipe organ. This organ was built in 1901 by a company called J. W. Walker & Sons Ltd. It's a "three manual" organ, which means it has three keyboards for the organist to play, making it quite powerful and versatile.
