Dionte Hunter, known by his stage name Chuuwee, is a hip hop artist from Sacramento, California. He was born on September 7, 1990. Chuuwee moved around a lot as a child. He lived in many parts of Sacramento, California. Later, he moved to San Antonio during his middle school years.

Chuuwee's music style is special. He uses smooth, smart, and thoughtful lyrics. These lyrics often talk about the world around him. This makes him stand out from other hip hop artists. By the time he was 21, Chuuwee felt he was a great songwriter. He could write in many rap and hip hop styles. He even mixed in parts of punk rock and R&B into his music.

Chuuwee became well-known in the underground music scene. His music was often featured on popular hip hop websites. These included 2DopeBoyz, HipHopDX, and Complex Magazine. He was also featured in XXL magazine. In 2012, Forbes magazine interviewed him at SXSW as a rising artist.

Chuuwee's Music Journey

Starting with Amalgam Digital

In 2010, Chuuwee met Next, also known as Anyextee. Anyextee was the CEO of the hip hop label Amalgam Digital. After hearing Chuuwee's song "Post Mortem," Anyextee quickly signed him. He first signed Chuuwee to his management company. This helped promote Chuuwee's independent project, "Watching The Throne."

In 2011, Anyextee officially signed Chuuwee as a recording artist. Chuuwee joined the Amalgam Digital record label. This label was also home to artists like Joe Budden and Curren$y.

Working with Other Artists

Chuuwee has worked with many talented artists and producers. These include Cookin' Soul, Lee Bannon, and Large Professor. He was also signed to Below System Records for digital music distribution. Through this label, he released two albums. These albums were "South Sac Mack" and "AmeriKKa's Most Blunted 2." In 2020, he released a new five-part album called "Dystopia."

Independent Artist and New Technology

Chuuwee is an independent artist. This means he has never signed with a major record label. He only signed with labels for digital distribution of his music. He also made history in 2016. He was the first person to have a full music video filmed using Volumetric Virtual Reality. This was a special collaboration with a company called 8i Reality.
