Ciara Kathleen Michel (born July 2, 1985) is a talented British-American volleyball player. She plays as a middle blocker, which means she helps block shots at the net. Ciara was born in Taunton, England. When she was 10, her family moved to Miami, Florida. That's where she started playing volleyball.
Ciara went to Palmer Trinity School in Miami. She graduated in 2003. People say she helped start a strong volleyball program at her school. Later, she played volleyball for the University of Miami from 2004 to 2008. She was the team captain and still holds the school record for the most blocks in her career!

Ciara's Professional Volleyball Journey
Playing in Australia and Germany
After college, Ciara went to Australia. She played for the University Blues of Victoria. At the same time, she earned a master's degree from the University of Melbourne. Then, she started her professional career in Germany. She played for Alemannia Aachen for two seasons, from 2010 to 2012.
Representing Great Britain at the Olympics
In 2012, Ciara was chosen to play for Great Britain in the London Olympics. This was a huge honor! She helped her team win a historic game against Algeria. The Great Britain team finished tied for 8th place in the tournament.
Playing in Italy and Turkey
After the Olympics, Ciara joined VT Aurubis, a team in Hamburg, Germany. In May 2013, she signed with Yamamay Busto Arsizio, a team near Milan, Italy. This was a big moment because she became the first British player ever to compete in the CEV Champions League. Her team did very well, finishing in 2nd place in the CEV Champions League in 2015.
For the 2015–2016 season, Ciara played in Turkey's top volleyball league. She played for Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor. With this team, she competed in the CEV Challenge Cup.
Playing in France
After her time in Turkey, Ciara moved to France. She played for fr:Association sportive Saint-Raphaël Volley-Ball during the 2016–2017 season. Then, she transferred to another French team, fr:ASPTT Mulhouse, for the 2017–2018 season. Later, for the 2019–2020 season, she joined fr:Pays d'Aix Venelles Volley Ball.
