Cindy Cash (born July 29, 1959) is an American singer, author, and antiques dealer. She is the third of four daughters of the famous singer-songwriter Johnny Cash and his first wife, Vivian Liberto.

Growing Up

Cindy Cash is the daughter of music legend Johnny Cash and his first wife, Vivian Liberto. Vivian was born and grew up in San Antonio, Texas.

Cindy's family lived in Memphis, Tennessee, for a short time. As her father's music career grew, they moved to Los Angeles, California. Her father later bought a farm in Casitas Springs, California. Cindy lived there as a child. Her parents separated when she was young. Her mother mostly raised Cindy and her sisters. They would visit their father during the summers. Later, her father married June Carter, who was also a famous singer.

Cindy's older sister is the well-known singer-songwriter Rosanne Cash. Cindy also became a singer for a while, following in her family's footsteps.

Music and Writing Career

Cindy Cash performed with her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash. She first sang a duet with her father in his show when she was 16 years old. She even sang with him during his very last performance.

For two years, Cindy was part of a music group called The Next Generation. This group included other children of famous country music stars. Among them were Peggy, Loretta Lynn's daughter, Kathy, Conway Twitty's daughter, and Georgette, the daughter of George Jones and Tammy Wynette. They traveled and performed live shows, but they did not record any songs.

After her singing career, Cindy Cash opened an antique store. She ran this store in Ridgeland, after marrying Eddie Panetta in 2003.

Cindy also became an author. In 1985, she started collecting photos, letters, and stories about her famous family. Her book, The Cash Family Scrapbook, was published in 1997. The book shares stories from her parents' marriage up to the time it was published.

Her Family Life

When Cindy was 18, she married her high school boyfriend. They had a daughter together. After they separated, Cindy and her daughter moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee. This allowed them to be closer to her father and June Carter.

Cindy later married singer-songwriter Marty Stuart. They met when they were both 21 years old. They were married from 1983 to 1988.

In 2003, she married Eddie Panetta. Sadly, he passed away in a motorcycle accident in 2009.
