Cintalapa is a town and a special kind of local government area called a municipality. It is located in the southern part of Mexico, in the state of Chiapas. The municipality covers a large area of about 2,404.6 square kilometers.
As of 2020, about 88,106 people lived in the Cintalapa municipality. This number has grown quite a bit from 2005, when there were 64,013 residents.
