Citrosuco is a very large company that makes orange juice concentrate. They are one of the biggest producers in the world! They sell about 45% of all orange juice concentrate in Brazil. Globally, they sell about 25% of it.
Besides juice, Citrosuco also makes other useful things from oranges. These include special oils, like essential oils, and even food for animals. The company's main office is in Matão, Brazil. It is part of a larger group called Votorantim Group. Citrosuco has offices in many countries, including Brazil, the United States, Germany, Japan, and Belgium. Another big company they compete with is Cutrale, which is also from Brazil.
In May 2010, Citrosuco/Fischer and Citrovita announced they would join together. This big merger was approved by Brazilian authorities in December 2011.
How Citrosuco Started
Citrosuco began its journey in 1963. It was created by three different companies: Pasco Packing Company, Eckes, and Fischer Group.
By 1969, Fischer Group bought out Pasco's share in the business. Later, in 1992, Fischer Group also bought Eckes' share. This made Fischer Group the main owner of Citrosuco.
The Story of Citrovita
Citrovita was founded in 1989. It was one of the businesses owned by the Votorantim Group. Citrovita started its work with a production factory in Catanduva, a city in the state of São Paulo. They also had their own orange farm in Itapetininga.
