Imagine stepping back in time and riding a beautiful, old carousel! The City of Waterloo Carousel is a special and historic amusement ride found in Waterloo, Wisconsin. It's a popular spot where families and friends can enjoy a classic carnival experience.

A Ride Through Time

This amazing carousel has a long and interesting history. It's not just any ride; it's a piece of history that has been enjoyed by many generations.

How It Was Built

The City of Waterloo Carousel was built way back in 1911. It was created by a famous company called the C.W. Parker Amusement Company. This company was known for making wonderful and exciting rides for carnivals and parks.

A New Home in Waterloo

For a while, the carousel traveled around with a group called the Curtis Brother Carnival. They were based out of Cuba City, Wisconsin. But in 1925, something exciting happened! The City of Waterloo decided to buy the carousel. It was a big deal for the town!

Once it arrived in Waterloo, the carousel found its new home in Fireman's Park. It has been a beloved part of the park ever since. Over the years, the carousel has been moved to a different spot within the park. This happened after it was damaged by flooding, but it was carefully repaired and brought back for everyone to enjoy.

A Historic Landmark

Because of its age and importance, the City of Waterloo Carousel was added to a special list in 1997. It became part of both the State and the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's recognized as a very important historical site in the United States. It's like a museum piece you can actually ride!
