How Ciudad Sandino Started
Ciudad Sandino began in 1969 because of some big floods. Heavy storms caused Lake Xolotlán to rise a lot. Many neighborhoods near the lake, like La Tejera and Acahualinca, were flooded. Because of this, people had to move to a safer place. This new, safer place became Ciudad Sandino.
