History of the Fairgrounds

The land for the fairgrounds was a generous gift. In 1972, Paul and Klare Reinhold donated 28 acres (about 113,000 square meters) to Clay County. This donation made it possible to create a dedicated space for community events. The first Clay County Agricultural Fair was held here in 1987.

What Happens at the Fairgrounds?

The fairgrounds have both indoor and outdoor areas. This means they can host many different kinds of events, no matter the weather. Besides the big annual fair, other events like concerts, trade shows, and community gatherings often take place here.

Sports at the Fairgrounds

In 2007, one of the indoor venues at the fairgrounds was planned to be the home for a football team. This team was called the Green Cove Lions. They were part of the National Indoor Football League, showing that the fairgrounds can be used for sports too!
