Clemente Juan Rodríguez (born on July 31, 1981) is a former professional football player from Argentina. He was a right-footed player. He could play on either side of the field as a full-back, especially on the left.

Clemente Rodríguez's Club Career

Starting at Boca Juniors

Clemente Rodríguez was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started his professional football journey with Boca Juniors. His first league game was on December 10, 2000. Boca Juniors lost that game 2–1 to Chacarita Juniors.

Clemente quickly became a very important player for Boca Juniors. He helped the team win many national and international titles in the early 2000s. In 2003, he was part of the Boca team that won the Intercontinental Cup. This was a big achievement for the club.

Playing in Europe

In 2004, Clemente moved to Europe and signed with Spartak Moscow in Russia. After some time, he returned to Boca Juniors on loan in 2007. This was for the Clausura (spring championship) season.

Later, for the 2007–08 season, he joined the Spanish team Espanyol. He played there on loan, gaining more experience in European football.

Returning to Argentina

In August 2009, Clemente came back to Argentina. He joined Estudiantes de La Plata. A year later, in August 2010, he returned to Boca Juniors for his third time. He continued to be a key player for them.

Later Career Moves

On June 24, 2013, Clemente signed a two-year contract with São Paulo in Brazil. However, he played for São Paulo for almost a year. On April 7, 2014, he was sent on loan back to Boca Juniors. He had a contract with São Paulo until June 2015, but he did not play for them again.

In September 2020, Clemente announced he was moving to a Bolivian club called Ciclon de Tárija. But by the end of that same month, it was announced that he had joined Deportivo Merlo instead.

Clemente Rodríguez's International Career

Playing for Argentina

Clemente Rodríguez also played for his country, Argentina. He was part of the Argentine Olympic football team that won the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics. This was a huge honor for him and his team.

He also played for the main Argentina national team. He started playing for them in 2003. He was even chosen by coach Diego Maradona to play in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. This is one of the biggest football tournaments in the world.
