A ghost town is a place that used to be a lively community. Over time, people moved away, and the town became empty. This can happen for many reasons. Sometimes, a mine closes, or a railroad changes its route. Other times, natural events like droughts or floods can make people leave. Ghost towns are like time capsules. The Story of Click
How Click Got Its Name
The community of Click was named after an early settler. His name was Malachi Click. It was common for towns to be named after important people. These were often the first families to settle in the area.
The Post Office in Click
Click once had its very own post office. This was a big deal for the community. It meant people could send and receive mail right there. Benjamin F. Lowe was the first postmaster. He was appointed when the post office opened in 1880. Having a post office made life much easier for the people living in Click.

Sadly, the post office in Click did not stay open forever. It was closed down during World War II. This was a very big global conflict. Many things changed during the war. Small services like the Click post office were sometimes discontinued. This often happened as populations shifted.
