Clinton Cyrus Thomas (born November 25, 1896 – died December 2, 1990) was an amazing professional baseball player. He was born in Greenup, Kentucky. Clint was nicknamed "Hawk" because he had such sharp eyes for hitting the ball. He was also great at playing in center field.
Clint played as an outfielder and second baseman. He played in the Negro leagues from 1920 to 1938.

Clint Thomas's Baseball Journey
Clint Thomas played for many different teams during his career. Some of these teams included the Brooklyn Royal Giants, the Detroit Stars, and the New York Black Yankees.
Winning Championships
Clint was a key player for the Philadelphia Hilldale team. This team won three championships in a row! They won the Eastern Colored League from 1923 to 1925. They also won the Negro World Series in 1925. This was a very big achievement for the team.
Memorable Moments
In 1931, Clint joined the New York Black Yankees. A year later, he played in a famous game against Satchel Paige's Pittsburgh Crawfords. Clint scored the only run for his team. He also made an amazing catch that helped the Black Yankees win!
Clint Thomas was sometimes called "The Black DiMaggio." This nickname compared him to the famous baseball star Joe DiMaggio. In one special exhibition game in Cuba, Clint even hit a home run off Fidel Castro!
Life After Baseball
After his baseball career ended, Clint Thomas continued to work hard. He worked for the West Virginia Department of Mines. He was a custodian and helped supervise staff there. He also worked as a messenger for the State Senate.
Clint Thomas passed away on December 2, 1990, in Charleston, West Virginia.
