Coco Malia Camille Hapaikekoa Ho, born on April 28, 1991, is a professional surfer from Hawaii. She grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii. Coco started surfing when she was just 7 years old, following in the footsteps of her amazing surfing family.
Early Surfing Days
Coco Ho began surfing at age 7, inspired by her family. Her father, Michael Ho, was a professional surfer. He won the World Cup and the 1982 Pipe Masters. Her uncle, Derek Ho, was also a professional surfer and became the World Champion in 1993. Coco's brother, Mason Ho, who won the Cold Water Classic ASP Pro Jr. in 2008, also helped her learn to surf.
Coco earned her first sponsorship when she was only 8 years old. By the time she was 17, she had qualified for the ASP Women's World Championship Tour. In 2009, she was named the Rookie of the Year. Coco grew up on Oahu's North Shore in Hawaii. She spent most of her time surfing the famous "Seven Mile Miracle" stretch of waves. Today, Coco is a well-known face for the Volcom clothing brand.
