Cody, Missouri facts for kids
Cody was once a small, unnamed area in southeastern Greene County, Missouri. It was a place that didn't have its own official local government. Today, this area is part of the city of Rogersville.
Cody was located right between the cities of Springfield and Rogersville. You could find it where two main roads, U.S. Route 60 and Missouri Route 125, met.
History
Cody had a post office that opened in 1901. However, it didn't stay open for very long, closing just four years later in 1905.
The community was named after a very famous person: William Frederick Cody. You might know him better by his nickname, "Buffalo Bill" Cody. He was a well-known American soldier, bison hunter, and showman.
