Cody Lightning is a talented actor and filmmaker from Canada. He is a member of the Cree people. Cody was born on August 8, 1986, in Edmonton, Alberta. His family is also involved in movies; his mom, Georgina Lightning, is a director and actress, and his siblings, Crystle Lightning and William, are actors too.
Cody started acting when he was young. In 1999, he was nominated for a Young Artist Award. This was for his supporting role in the movie Smoke Signals. Later, in 2007, he won the Best Actor award at the American Indian Film Festival. This award was for his work in the film Four Sheets to the Wind.
In 2023, Cody took on new roles. He wrote, directed, and starred in his first movie as a director. The film is called Hey, Viktor!. It's a mockumentary, which means it's a fake documentary. In the movie, Cody plays a made-up version of himself. This character tries to restart his acting career. He does this by making his own sequel to Smoke Signals. In 2024, Cody was nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards for his work on Hey, Viktor!. He was recognized for Best Lead Performance in a Comedy Film and for Best Original Screenplay.
