Crystle Lea Lightning (born February 5, 1981) is a talented Canadian-American actress, musician, and DJ. She is a member of the First Nations community and is known for her work in movies, television, and music.

Early Life and Background

Crystle Lightning was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She belongs to the Enoch Cree people. Her mother, Georgina Lightning, is a director and actress, and her brother, Cody Lightning, is also an actor.

Crystle's journey into performing began when she was just four years old. When she was nine, her family moved to Hollywood, California, so she could pursue her acting career. Today, she has dual citizenship, meaning she is a citizen of both Canada and the United States.

Acting Career

Crystle started her acting career in 1994. One of her first big roles was playing Jo in the movie 3 Ninjas Knuckle Up in 1995. A very important role for her was playing U.S. Army soldier Lori Piestewa in the movie Saving Jessica Lynch.

Over the years, she has appeared in many popular TV shows and movies. She had a role in the soap opera Days of Our Lives and appeared in the comedy movie American Pie Presents: Band Camp. She also acted alongside famous actor Bradley Cooper in the film Older Than America.

In 2021, Crystle won a major award for her acting. She received the Best Actress in a Drama Series award for her role in the TV show Trickster.

She has also done voice acting for video games. She was the voice of Jen in the 2006 video game Prey.

Music and DJ Career

Besides acting, Crystle is a skilled DJ who plays electro house music. She was inspired to become a DJ after seeing another artist perform in Los Angeles. She learned from her mentor, Christi Mills, and they later formed a DJ group called Ladies of the House.

LightningCloud Hip-Hop Group

Crystle also took her musical talents to the main stage by forming a hip-hop group called LightningCloud with another artist, MC RedCloud. In 2012, they released their first album, LightningCloud.

Their music was a success, and they won an award for Best Hip Hop Album at the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards in 2012. The next year, they won a major radio contest on Power 106. This victory gave them the chance to perform with the famous rapper Kendrick Lamar and work in the studio with the legendary music producer Timbaland.
