The Story of Coffeyton
Coffeyton got its start a long time ago. A post office was opened there in 1882. This post office helped people send and receive mail until it closed in 1918.
The community was named after a local doctor, Joel T. Coffee. It was common for places to be named after important people who lived or worked there.
