The Colegiata de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción is a beautiful old church in Osuna, a town in Andalusia, Spain. Its name means 'Collegiate Church of Saint Mary of the Assumption'. This Catholic church was built a long time ago, in the 1500s. A nobleman named Juan Téllez-Girón, 4th Count of Ureña started its construction. In 1931, it was recognized as an important cultural site.

Exploring the Church Inside
The inside of the church is very grand. It has a large main area called a nave, with two side sections. There are also five smaller chapels and a special area for the altar. The church's interior is decorated in the Renaissance style. This style was popular in Europe from the 14th to the 17th centuries.
The Main Altar and Chapels
The main altar, where services are held, was built in the 1700s. It is in the Baroque style, which is known for being very detailed and dramatic. The chapels on the sides of the church are also very beautiful.
The Sacristy Museum
The church has a very large room called a sacristy. This room was once used to store religious items and clothing. Today, this huge sacristy is a museum. It displays amazing artworks. You can see five paintings by a famous artist named José de Ribera, also known as El Españoleto. There is also a beautiful carving by Juan de Mesa.
The Pantheon of Dukes
Underneath the main church, there is a special place called the Pantheon of Dukes. This area was built in 1545. It is designed in the Plateresque style, which is a very detailed Spanish Renaissance style. The Pantheon holds the tombs of the Dukes of Osuna. It also has a small chapel with an altarpiece. An altarpiece is a piece of art placed behind the altar. This one is thought to be by Roque Balduque. There is also a painting by Hernando de Esturmio here.
Filming Location
The Collegiate Church of Osuna is so impressive that it has even been used for filming! In October 2014, some scenes from the popular TV show Game of Thrones (season 5) were filmed inside this historic church.
