Collins was a small, unincorporated community located in Napa County, California. An "unincorporated community" is a place that doesn't have its own local government. Instead, it's usually managed by the county it's in. Collins was situated about 49 feet (15 meters) above sea level.
Where Was Collins Located?
Collins was found in a part of California known for its beautiful landscapes. It was located near the Southern Pacific Railroad. This railroad was very important for moving goods and people across the country. Collins was about 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) south of another place called Napa Junction.
What Happened to Collins?
Over time, communities can grow and change. In 1992, Collins was officially joined with a nearby city. This process is called "annexation" and "incorporation." Collins became a part of American Canyon. This means it no longer exists as a separate community. Its land and people became part of the larger city.
