Colonial Hall and Masonic Lodge No. 30 are two old and important buildings in Anoka, Minnesota. They are located at 1900 3rd Avenue, South. Both buildings were once owned by a group called Anoka Lodge No 30 AF & AM. This group was officially started on October 25, 1859.

Colonial Hall is also known as the Aldrich House. It got this name from its first owners, Dr. Alanson and Dr. Flora Aldrich. They were important doctors and leaders in the community. Colonial Hall is a two-story wooden building. It was built in 1904 by a famous local architect named Fredrick Marsh. The building combines two styles: Colonial Revival and Greek Revival.

The Anoka Lodge bought the Aldrich House in 1921. In 1922, they started building a new Masonic temple. This temple is a two-story building made of red brick. It is located behind Colonial Hall, slightly to the north. The temple was designed in the Georgian Revival style. It was finished and ready to use in 1923.

Historic Buildings in Anoka

On December 31, 1979, Colonial Hall and Masonic Lodge No. 30 became even more special. They were added to the National Register of Historic Places. This is a list of places in the United States that are important to history.

As of July 2019, Anoka Lodge No. 30 still met in the Lodge hall. They held meetings twice a month. Other related groups also used the hall. These groups included Anoka-Shekinah Royal Arch Chapter #104 and the Order of the Eastern Star Marthas Chapter.

In December 2012, a decision was made to sell Colonial Hall. It was sold to a private owner. The goal was to restore the building and make it look new again.

By 2016, Colonial Hall had a new purpose. It was rented out to a business called The Big White House. This business is an antiques store.
