Columbia Center is a small, historic area located in the city of Pataskala, which is in Licking County, Ohio, United States. It's found just over a mile west of Pataskala's main downtown area. This neighborhood has a long history and was once an important spot.

How Columbia Center Began

Columbia Center started to grow around the year 1850. This was an exciting time because the railroad was extended to reach this very spot! The arrival of the railroad made it easier for people and goods to travel. This helped the area become a small community.

Early Services and Growth

Soon after the railroad arrived, a post office was opened in Columbia Center. This happened in 1851. Having a post office was a big deal for the people living there. It meant they could send and receive letters and packages easily. The post office served the community for many years, staying open until 1907.
