Columbus Keith Short Jr. (born September 19, 1982) is an American actor and choreographer. He is known for his roles in movies like Stomp the Yard, Cadillac Records, and The Losers. He also starred as Harrison Wright in the TV show Scandal. Besides acting, Columbus Short has worked as a choreographer for famous artists, including Britney Spears's Onyx Hotel Tour.

Early Life and School

Columbus Short was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up in a family that loved music. His mother, Janette, even ran a company that helped talented people. Columbus has two brothers, John Rancipher and Chris Staples.

When he was five years old, his family moved to Los Angeles. There, he quickly started acting in a youth theater. He went to different high schools, including Marcos De Niza High School and El Segundo High School. He also attended the Orange County High School of the Arts. Later, he left school to join the Stomp show, which was a big step in his career.

His Acting Career

Columbus Short's first acting job was as a dancer in the movie You Got Served in 2004. He then appeared in the comedy film Accepted in 2006. That same year, he took on a main role in Save the Last Dance 2.

A big moment in his career was starring in the 2007 movie Stomp the Yard. In this film, he played DJ Williams, a talented dancer. He also appeared on the Disney Channel Original Series That's So Raven as Trey, a member of a fictional boy band called "Boyz n' Motion." In 2007, Columbus was in the Christmas movie This Christmas, alongside Chris Brown. In 2008, he acted in the movie Quarantine. He also played the famous musician Little Walter in Cadillac Records, where he worked with stars like Beyoncé Knowles.

In 2010, he played "Pooch" in the action film The Losers. This movie was based on a graphic novel. He worked with actors like Chris Evans and Zoe Saldana in this film.

Family Life

Columbus Short is a father of four children. He has been married to Aida Abramyan since 2016. They have two sons together. He also has a son from his first marriage to Brandi Short and a daughter from his marriage to Tanee McCall.
