The Comedian Harmonists were a very famous German music group. They were all men and sang together in a special style called close harmony. This means their voices blended very closely. They performed between 1928 and 1934. They became one of the most successful music groups in Europe before World War II.

The group had six members. Harry Frommermann was a tenor buffo, which is a high male voice. Asparuh "Ari" Leschnikoff was the first tenor. Erich Collin was the second tenor. Roman Cycowski sang baritone, a middle male voice. Robert Biberti was the bass, the lowest male voice. Erwin Bootz played the piano.

What made the Comedian Harmonists special was how well their voices mixed. They could make their individual voices stand out, then blend back into the group sound. They sang many different kinds of songs. Their music included folk songs and classical pieces. Harry Frommermann often arranged these songs. They also sang popular and clever songs by writers like Peter Igelhoff and Paul Abraham.
