Concord is a small, quiet place in northern Callaway County, Missouri. It's not a city or town with its own government. Instead, it's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and buildings that are part of the larger county area. Concord is located about four miles northwest of a town called Auxvasse. It's also just half a mile north of Missouri Route E, a local road.
History
Concord was officially planned out in 1837. This process, called platting, is when someone draws a map showing how land will be divided into lots and streets. The community was named after the local Concord Presbyterian Church. A post office was opened in Concord in 1838. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages. It stayed open for many years, finally closing its doors in 1904.
