The Congregational Store, also known as Wolle's Store, is a very old and important building in Lititz, Pennsylvania. It is located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. This building has a long history as a place of business.

What is the Congregational Store?

The Congregational Store is a historic building that was once a busy shop. It helped serve the community of Lititz for many years. Today, it is recognized for its historical value.

How Old is the Building?

The first part of the Congregational Store was built in 1762. That makes it over 260 years old! This original section was a two-story building. It was made from strong limestone.

Later, between 1854 and 1859, the building was changed. A new three-story section was added to the east side. The older part of the building was also covered with stucco. A fancy entrance, called a portico, was added. It had columns in the Tuscan order style.

Why is it Important?

The Congregational Store is considered a very important historical site. Because of its age and history, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. This list helps protect important places in the United States.

The building is also part of the Lititz Moravian Historic District. This district includes many old buildings that show the history of the Moravian community in Lititz.
