History of Conrad
Early Days and the Post Office
Conrad had a post office that opened in 1880. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This office helped the community stay connected.
Martin's Landing
When the post office first opened, Conrad was also home to a river landing. This landing was called Martin's Landing. A river landing is a place where boats can dock to load or unload goods and people. It was owned by John Martins, who was also the postmaster at the time. The post office closed down in 1903.
