Cookietown is a small place in Cotton County, Oklahoma, United States. It is called an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
Cookietown is located less than 15 miles southwest of Walters. Walters is the main town in Cotton County. Cookietown is also found right off US Route 277, close to where it meets Oklahoma State Highway 5A.
History of Cookietown
Cookietown got its name from a store that used to be there. Around 1928, a man named Marvin Cornelius owned a store at the crossroads. He was known for giving cookies to children who visited his store. That's how this little community got its sweet name!
