Where is Cora?
Cora is located in a pretty area. East Locust Creek flows right past the west side of the community. A railroad track, once part of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, also runs nearby. It's a peaceful spot surrounded by nature.
History of Cora
Cora has an interesting past. It was first known by a different name, McCullough. In 1877, the area was officially 'platted,' which means its streets and lots were planned out on a map. That same year, a post office opened in Cora, helping people send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years before closing in 1957.
