Making the Movie
Coraline was directed by Henry Selick. He also directed another famous stop-motion movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas. The movie is based on a popular book by the author Neil Gaiman.
Stop-motion animation is a very detailed and time-consuming process. Animators move puppets tiny amounts and take a picture. Then they move them again and take another picture. When all the pictures are played quickly, it looks like the puppets are moving! It took a lot of hard work and patience to create the amazing world of Coraline.
The movie's unique look and spooky atmosphere make it special. It teaches us about bravery, appreciating what we have, and the dangers of things that seem too good to be true.
