Craig Curry, known by his stage name Craig G, is an American rapper. He was born on March 24, 1973. He is well-known as a member of the Juice Crew. This was a famous hip hop group led by producer Marley Marl from Cold Chillin' Records.

Craig G started his music journey very young. He recorded his first song, "Shout Rap," with Marley Marl in 1985 when he was just 12 years old. In 1988, he recorded "The Symphony" with the Juice Crew. This song is seen as a very important moment in the history of rap music. After this, he signed with Atlantic Records. He released two albums with them in 1989 and 1991. Later, in 2003, he released another album called This Is Now!!! on D&D Records. This album featured other famous artists like Marley Marl and DJ Premier.

Craig G's Career Highlights

Craig G was also known as a top freestyle and battle rapper. This means he was great at making up rhymes on the spot and competing against other rappers. He had some memorable rap battles with another rapper named Supernatural.

In the early 2000s, Craig G helped with the movie 8 Mile. He wrote and organized the rap battle verses for Eminem and the other characters in the film. The next year, he wrote lyrics for a character in 50 Cent's movie Get Rich or Die Tryin'. His rap battle with Supernatural was even featured in a 2005 documentary called Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme.

In 2008, the Juice Crew reunited and performed at the A3C Hip Hop Festival in Atlanta. Craig G continued to release new music. In 2012, he released his fourth solo album, Ramblings Of An Angry Old Man. He released his fifth album, I Rap & Go Home, on June 3, 2016. His project The Fragile Ego was released on September 4, 2020. Craig G also released a new album titled “The World Is Cooked” on November 1, 2024.
