The Crandon International Off-Road Raceway is a famous off-road racing track. It is located near Crandon, Wisconsin, in the United States. This track hosts several big events each year. These include the World Championship Off-Road Races and the Red Bull Crandon World Cup. The track is run by a group of people who love racing. They operate it as a non-profit organization.

What is the Crandon Raceway Track Like?

The Crandon track is designed for exciting off-road races. It started as a 1.75-mile (2.8 km) long course. Later, it was made a bit shorter, to 1.5 miles (2.4 km). In 2002, a special shortcut was added. This made the lap length 1.25 miles (2 km). The shortcut helps fans see the entire race from the stands.

How Do Races Start at Crandon?

Races at Crandon begin with a "land rush" start. This means all the vehicles line up side by side. When the signal is given, they all take off at the same time. It's a very exciting way to begin a race!

World Championship Off-Road Races

The "World Championship Off-Road Races" are a huge event at Crandon. They first started in 1970. This big race weekend happens every year around Labor Day. Different racing groups have helped organize the event over the years. All the different types of racing vehicles compete for their own world championship titles.

The Overall World Cup Race

There's also a special overall world championship race. In this race, two-wheel-drive (Pro 2) trucks race against four-wheel-drive (Pro 4) trucks. The two-wheel-drive trucks usually get a head start. This makes the race fair and very exciting.

Many famous drivers have won this race. Scott Taylor was the first to win in a two-wheel-drive truck. CJ Greaves is the only driver to win in both a Pro 2 and a Pro 4 truck. The race was once called the Borg-Warner Challenge. Then it became the AMSOIL Cup. Since 2019, it's known as the Red Bull Crandon World Cup.
