Cravo Norte is a town and a type of local government area called a municipality in the Arauca Department, Colombia. It is believed that a Jesuit missionary named Joseph Gumilla started the town in 1538. The first official count of people living there happened in May 1797, and at that time, only 205 people were recorded.
