Crawfordsville, Ohio facts for kids
Crawfordsville was once a small town in Preble County, Ohio, but it no longer exists today. It's known as an "extinct town" or a ghost town because all its buildings and people are gone.
A Brief History of Crawfordsville
Crawfordsville was planned and started in 1842. This means people decided where the streets and buildings would go, hoping it would become a busy place. However, Crawfordsville faced a big challenge: it was very close to another town called New Hope. New Hope was already growing and had more businesses and people. Because of this, Crawfordsville found it hard to attract new residents or businesses. It simply couldn't grow as much as New Hope, and eventually, it faded away.
