Crescent has an interesting history. A post office was first opened in Crescent in 1895. This post office was important for the people living there, allowing them to send and receive mail. It operated for many years before closing in 1919. Crescent was originally known as a mining community. This means that many people in the area worked in mines, digging for valuable resources from the ground. This work was a big part of the community's early development.
