Crotram is a special group of companies from Croatia. They work together to build modern, low-floor trams. These trams are like super cool electric buses that run on tracks! The main companies in Crotram are Končar and TŽV Gredelj. Both are located in Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia.
Končar handles the main plans, electric parts, and putting the trams together. TŽV Gredelj builds the bodies for the trams. Another factory, Đuro Đaković, was part of the team at first. But they left the project. Now, German companies help with some parts like the hydraulics and bogie mechanics.
Crotram's Trams
Crotram has built several types of trams. They are known for their low-floor design. This means the tram floor is very close to the ground. It makes it easy for everyone, including people with wheelchairs or strollers, to get on and off.
The TMK 2100 Tram
The TMK 2100 is a tram built by Končar and TŽV Gredelj. They made it between 1994 and 2003. This tram used some parts from an older model, the TMK 201.
The very first TMK 2100 was made in 1994. The company started making more of them in 1997. The city of Zagreb ordered and received 16 of these trams.
The TMK 2200 Tram
The TMK 2200 is also called NT 2200. It is a low-floor tram that runs in Zagreb. In 2003, the city's public transportation company, ZET, needed new trams.
Crotram won the competition to build them. They offered a lower price than other companies like Siemens and AnsaldoBreda. ZET ordered 70 of these trams.
The TMK 2200 K Tram
The TMK 2200-K is a shorter version of the TMK 2200. Two of these shorter trams have been delivered. The city of Liepāja is set to receive 14 more. ZET in Zagreb is also planning to order 60 more of them. In ZET's records, the TMK 2200-K is listed as the TMK 2300.
