History of Cub Run's Name
Have you ever wondered how places get their names? For Cub Run, there are a few fun stories! Some people say the name came from tales of a bear cub running through the area.
But there's another idea too. In some parts of the southeastern United States, a "run" means a small stream or creek. So, Cub Run is also the name of a creek that flows into the Green River. This creek starts right in the village of Cub Run itself. It's very likely that the "cub" in the name refers to a bear cub, especially since there are other nearby creeks named Bear Creek and Bar Brook.
