Cuba, Putnam County, Ohio facts for kids
Cuba is a small place in Putnam County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it is a group of homes and businesses that do not have their own local government, like a city or town. Instead, it is part of the larger county.
A Look Back at Cuba's History
Cuba has a simple but interesting past. Long ago, it was an important stop on a railroad line. Imagine trains chugging through, bringing people and goods!
For many years, Cuba also had its own post office. It was not called Cuba Post Office, though. It was known as the Sheridan Post Office. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages from 1866 until 1892. After 1892, the post office closed, but Cuba remained a small community.
