Where is Cueto?
Cueto is found in the northern part of Santander. It looks out over the Atlantic Ocean. The area is famous for its high cliffs that meet the sea. It's only about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from downtown Santander.
The Famous Cabo Mayor Lighthouse
One of the most well-known landmarks in Cueto is its lighthouse. This lighthouse is called Faro de Cabo Mayor. An engineer named Felipe Bauzá built it in 1839. Lighthouses help guide ships safely along the coast.
Cueto's Population and Growth
Even though Cueto is close to the center of Santander, it is not very crowded. As Santander has grown, it has started to include nearby areas like Cueto. In 2004, about 8,905 people lived in Cueto.
