Cuneo was once a small community located in Kings County, California. It is known as a "former settlement" because it no longer exists as a populated place today.
What Was Cuneo?
Cuneo was situated along the Southern Pacific Railroad line. It was about 4 miles (6.4 km) north of a town called Stratford. The area where Cuneo was located is about 210 feet (64 meters) above sea level.
When Did Cuneo Exist?
Records show that Cuneo appeared on maps as late as 1929. This means that by the early 20th century, it was still recognized as a place. Over time, like many small settlements, Cuneo faded away. This can happen for many reasons, such as changes in transportation, economic shifts, or people moving to larger towns.
