Cureall, Missouri facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Cureall is a small place in Howell County, Missouri, in the United States. It is called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and buildings that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of the larger county.

History of Cureall

Cureall got its name because people believed a special mineral spring nearby could help them feel better. A mineral spring is a natural spring where water flows from the ground, and it contains different minerals dissolved in it. In the past, many people thought these minerals had healing powers.

A post office was opened in Cureall in 1860. It helped people send and receive letters and packages for many years. The post office stayed open until 1958, which is almost 100 years! Even though the post office is gone, the name Cureall reminds us of the spring and its believed healing qualities.
