Curtis Glenn Ford (born October 11, 1960) is a former American professional baseball player. He was an outfielder in Major League Baseball (MLB). Curt Ford played for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Philadelphia Phillies from 1985 to 1990.

Curt Ford's Baseball Journey
Early Life and College Baseball
Curt Ford grew up in Jackson, Mississippi. He went to Murrah High School and then attended Jackson State University. While at Jackson State, he played college baseball for the Jackson State Tigers team.
Starting His Professional Career
The St. Louis Cardinals noticed Curt Ford's talent. They chose him in the fourth round of the 1981 Major League Baseball Draft in 1981. This was a big step for him into professional baseball.
Playing in Major League Baseball
Curt Ford made his first appearance in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the St. Louis Cardinals on June 22, 1985. He quickly showed his skills. In the 1987 World Series, which was a championship series, he played very well for the Cardinals. He had a batting average of .308 during that series against the Minnesota Twins.
After the 1988 season, Curt Ford moved to a new team. The Cardinals traded him and another player, Steve Lake, to the Philadelphia Phillies. In exchange, the Cardinals received Milt Thompson. Ford played for the Phillies in 1989 and 1990.
During his time in MLB, Curt Ford hit seven home runs. He also had 89 runs batted in (RBIs). His overall batting average for his MLB career was .245.
After Playing Baseball
After his playing career, Curt Ford continued to be involved in baseball. On May 12, 2010, he became the new manager for the Springfield Sliders. This is a collegiate baseball team that plays in the Prospect League. The team is located in Springfield, Illinois. Ford took over the manager role from Jack Clark.
