Curtis J. Tarver II is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives. He helps make laws for the state of Illinois. He represents the 25th district. This district is in Chicago and includes neighborhoods like Hyde Park and South Shore.

Curtis Tarver grew up on the South Side of Chicago. He went to Marian Catholic High School.
After high school, he studied at Iowa State University. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2003. Later, he went to the University of Iowa College of Law. He earned his law degree in 2006.
Working in Government
Mr. Tarver became a state representative in January 2019. He won his election in 2018. He took over the role from Barbara Flynn Currie, who had been a representative for a long time.
