Cynthia Peretti (born June 2, 1948 – died May 8, 2009) was an American professional wrestler and trainer. She was best known by her exciting ring name, Princess Jasmine. She was a talented athlete who traveled the world and later helped train other wrestlers.

Becoming a Pro Wrestler
Cynthia Peretti started her wrestling journey in 1968. She was trained by two well-known professional wrestlers, Prince Pullins and Dick the Bruiser. After her training, she began wrestling under the name Princess Jasmine. She mostly wrestled in the central United States. However, she also competed in many other places around the world. These included the southeastern U.S., Canada, Japan, the Philippines, the Caribbean, Africa, Korea, and the Middle East. She wrestled throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling
Cynthia Peretti also worked as a trainer for a popular wrestling show called Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, or GLOW. This show was created by David McLane. During the first TV tapings for GLOW, Cynthia appeared on screen as a wrestler. She used the ring name Pepper and teamed up with another wrestler named Salt. Salt was played by Charli "Golden Cat" Haynes.
American Wrestling Association
After her time with GLOW, Cynthia Peretti joined the American Wrestling Association (AWA). Here, she became a top challenger for the AWA World Women's Championship. This championship was held by Sherri Martel at the time. She also teamed up with former champion Candi Devine in tag team matches. They wrestled against a team called the Daughters of Darkness, which included Luna Vachon and The Lock. During this period, she also worked for David McLane's new organization, Powerful Women of Wrestling.
World Wrestling Federation
In 1987, Cynthia Peretti made a brief appearance in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). She challenged Sherri Martel for the WWF Women's Championship. This was a big moment in her career.
Life After Wrestling
After she stopped wrestling professionally, Cynthia Peretti started working in films. She appeared as an extra in several movies. These included Chain Reaction, U.S. Marshalls, My Best Friend’s Wedding, and Love Jones.
While working as a film extra, Cynthia also had a job at the Ford Motor Company. She worked in their shipping and receiving department.
Cynthia Peretti passed away on May 8, 2009, after battling an illness.
Her Lasting Legacy
In 2013, the wrestling organization WOW – Women of Wrestling created a special award. It is called the 'Princess Jasmine Trailblazer Award'. This award honors Cynthia Peretti's life and her important contributions to professional wrestling. The very first person to receive this award was Peggy Lee Leather, who was known as 'Thug' in WOW.
